“CAT video for the song "Forgiveness" from their 2000 debut album 'Best Kept Secrets”.

About Catherine

Catherine has been writing songs since the '90s, touring the U.K. and Europe extensively, her love for the music has never extinguished and she's raring to go.
Catherine is an accomplished novelist and a published author since 2014. With a whole host of completed works to publish in the near future, these are exciting times for Catherine to represent her previous works and to set out several years of creative pieces for public consumption.

The Music

Popular with the public and the music industry when CAT released their debut album 'Best Kept Secrets' in 2000. The album was produced by the late Pat Collier.

They released three singles and toured extensively throughout Europe and the UK.

Once having her daughter, Catherine decided to focus on becoming an author and her songwriting skills.

Catherine was fortunate to work with the prolific song-writer Russ Ballard and his son Christian. She would sit beside Russ at his piano whilst he played some of his classics and she’d listen in awe as he described the unique journey each song had travelled to get to its final destination. 'Since you’ve been gone.’ ‘No more the fool.’ And ‘God gave rock n roll to you’ were just three of the classics Russ has written.

Catherine could not believe it when she was offered a publishing deal with Wardlaw music a couple of years ago. https://www.wardlawmusic.com/

She is currently working with some fabulously talented musicians, writing and recording her debut solo album. Their first single “Somewhere” is due to be released in the autumn.

The Show

Catherine started writing her show, whilst staying in a Womans refuge.

In order to process the situation she found herself living in, she decided to write a colourful, yet dark show.

The shows main character has a nervous breakdown as a result of enduring years of coercion and gas lighting.

A family friend introduced Catherine to a fabulous composer Glenn Tollett https://glenntollett.com/ , together they are going to complete the show next year.

The Books

Catherines passion for writing enables her to escape reality sometimes. A useful tool as she has suffered extreme anxiety over the years.

Catherine doesn’t particularly favour any particular genre or niche and says:

‘I just love making stuff up or writing about how I feel’.

Catherine writes poems. Short stories. Novels. A show. She has also written a couple of four part dramas.

Catherine has previously had three books published, a romantic novel called “Beach Hut”, a journal written under a pseudonym called “Broken Angels” of her life and experience of living in a Womans refuge with her daughter and her experience of coercion and domestic abuse.

She is currently writing a romantic novel, and a journal about her battles with anxiety and agoraphobia, a heartfelt, yet funny journal in the hope of helping others.
